What are Research Cores?

Research Cores are scientific facilities that contain specialized equipment and processes, cutting edge technologies and technical support and expertise that are valuable for furthering the development of biomedical research towards commercialization

Each Research Core is associated with and usually located in a Center that was established, through an NIH Award, to focus on a specific human health concern.

The following list of NIH IDeA-supported Research Cores was compiled to give XLN innovators an easy way to find and connect with biomedical resources in their region.

Types of Center Awards in the Table Include:

  • Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE)
  • IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE)
  • Clincal and Translational Research Awards (IDeA-CTR)
  • Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA)

To Utilize This Resource:

  1. Search the database table by location or subject area
  2. Click on the links to go directly to the Center or Core’s webpage, then
  3. Connect and collaborate!
