The Story of DesiCorp

How these Researchers Progressed
from Lab to Market

An example of how university researchers
accessed commercialization programs & curriculum to launch a company.

The goal of the network is to help university faculty, researchers and students find access to the resources they need to commercialize promising life science and healthcare technologies – navigating the path from lab to market.

DesiCorp, from the University of Louisville, is an example of that journey. The company resulted from the fortuitous combination of ideas from the biology and engineering departments to create a breakthrough technology in drying blood which has dramatic lifesaving and commercial potential

That bench technology has now been embodied in a promising young company DesiCorp whose story is helpful in illustrating what we hope to help accomplish with university researchers throughout the XLerator Network.
