XLerator Network

The  XLerator Network represents one of four IDeA State Regions to receive a National Institutes of Health STTR award through the IDeA Regional Entrepreneurship Development (I-RED) Program. The Southeast IDeA States region includes six states (KY, WV, SC, AR, MS, LA) plus Puerto Rico, and the I-RED XLerator Network supports 25+ academic institutional partners across this region. XLerateHealth is the SBC recipient of this grant, and the University of Kentucky is the Lead Academic Partner.

The primary objective of the I-RED XLerator Network is to build university based biomedical researchers’, clinician’s, and students’ entrepreneurial skills needed to translate scientific discoveries and innovative technologies into commercial products and shorten the time it takes to get these technologies from bench to market.  We currently offer a number of commercialization programs and other online resources; and through the I-RED program we are launching a suite of experience-based entrepreneurial educational modules, products, and training tools.
